Rearcous
Smith - 1975 - 2009
Rearcous Smith, a cherished friend and an extremely gifted
entertainer, passed away suddenly on April 21, 2009, in his
sleep of pneumonia. He was 35 years old.
Rearcous performed in numerous plays and musicals
throughout the south and was a professional entertainer for
the past 12 years. Most recently Rea was seen in
Communicating
Doors,
A Midsummer Night's
Dream, and
BatBoy The
Musical at CSU and
in The Odd
Couple,
Smokey Joe's
Cafe,
The Member of the Wedding,
Hamlet, and
Big River
at the Springer Opera House.
Other credits include appearances at The Alliance Theatre
and the 14th Street Playhouse in Atlanta; the Grand Opera
House, the Douglass Theatre, and the Macon Little Theatre
in Macon; and at RiverCenter and The Liberty in Columbus.
He served as an extra in the movie Drumline and was featured in a children's
video Responsibility
Matters. He
recently directed August Wilson's Fences at CSU. For Sherlock’s Rearcous was seen
in “Til Death Do Us Part” and “Dial ‘S’ For Santa”.
There are no words to describe the loss of this wonderful
individual who made our lives worth living. Rearcous was a
beacon of light, a provider of joy, and a constant reminder
to live every day to it’s fullest. There will not be
another of his kind, ever.

his memory.
